Notes: The Qaw'wI' class continues the Klingons' plans to field new ship classes that originate from earlier classes. Due to the continuing economic struggle in the Empire, High Command does not have the resources to field a completely new kind of ship. Based on the numerous and extremely successful Bird of Prey ship classes, the Qaw'wI' class takes them a step further into modern warfare, with enhanced weapons and targeting systems, a new and improved warp core, newly enhanced shields, and a step up in the disruptor armaments. The newly redesigned hull strengthens the integrity of the ship, giving it an extra edge against incoming enemy weapons fire.
