Notes: The 'Iw SuvwI' class is the result of an experiment in joining two successfully established, and very different types of warship. The class was conceived by the joining of a bI'rel (B'rel) class Bird of Prey, and a vor'cha class attack cruiser. The cost of this experiment was seen as a major stumbling block for the Empire's military budget, so no plans have been made to continue with this type of experiment, but, because the 'Iw SuvwI' class was successful in all phases of testing and service, the Imperial Klingon Navy has seen no reason to reverse the joining of these two vessels.

A complex series of heavily reinforced struts and force fields maintain the stability of the joined ships during warp flight and combat maneuvers, while an also complex network of the most advanced computer connections enable the vessels to be controlled together from a central command center on the bridge of the Bird of Prey. Weapons, power and propulsion systems are networked together to give complete control over both ships from the Bird of Prey's command center. The vor'cha class ship can be disconnected and controlled remotely from the Bird of Prey, within a certain range, or it can be directly commanded by reassigning some of the command crew of the Bird of Prey aboard it, to accomodate the introduction of another ship into a battle zone, if necessary.

Recent threats from the Bodak have prompted the Empire to keep this class in service for as long as possible. Its sheer firepower and troop carrying capabilities have made it a very integral and valuable part of the KHG fleet.
